Early Life

Alia Bhatt was born to filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and film actress Soni Razdan on 15 March 1993 in Mumbai. She holds British citizenship since her mother is from the UK, and India doesn’t allow dual citizenship. She has a biological sister, Shaheen Bhatt, and two half-siblings, Pooja Bhatt and Rahul Bhatt. Music director Mukesh Bhatt is her paternal uncle, and Emraan Hashmi and Mohit Suri are her paternal cousins. Alia completed her schooling at the renowned school, Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai. Alia Bhatt debuted in the Sangharsh movie featuring Akshay Kumar and Preity Zinta. Later, Alia Bhatt’s notable work was in the movie Student of the Year (2012), produced by Karan Johar. She proceeded to team up with Johar’s studio Dharma Productions in a larger part of her upcoming releases, including the romantic films i.e. 2 States (2014), Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014), and Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017).
