He was born on January 10, 1974, in Bombay, Maharashtra, India. Hrithik Roshan’s father is Rakesh Roshan, and his mother is Pinkie Roshan. His father worked as a film director, while his mother is the daughter of producer and director J. Om Prakash. Roshan attended Sydenham College, where he participated in dance and music festivals and studied. He often would be on the set of his father’s films as an assistant. Personal Life
On December 20, 2000, in a private ceremony in Bangalore, Hrithik Roshan married his longtime and dearest girlfriend, a successful businesswoman and interior designer named Susanne Khan. Despite their religious differences, as Roshan is a Hindu and Khan is a Muslim, the couple have managed these differences and created a family. In 2006, they had a son, Hrehaan, followed by a second son in 2008 in Hridhaan. In 2013, the couple decided to separate and then finalized their divorce in November 2014. The divorce was amicable.
While Hrithik and Susanne divorced in 2014, they decided to maintain a cordial relationship for their children and are still very close friends today.
In 2016, Roshan filed a lawsuit against a co-star, Kangana Ranaut, accusing her of cyberstalking and harassment. Ranaut filed a counter-charge, claiming that the lawsuit was merely an attempt to cover up the affair the two had engaged in. However, the police closed the case due to a lack of evidence.

Acting Career
Hrithik Roshan was supposed to make his big screen debut as a lead actor in “Ta Ra Rum Pum,” but the film was ultimately canceled. However, he went on to star in one of his father’s films, the romantic drama “Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai” in 2000. The film became one of the highest-grossing Indian films of the year. He received the Best Male Debut and Best Actor Awards at the annual Filmfare Awards, IIFA Awards, and Zee Cine Awards for his role in the film. He became the first actor to win the Best Debut and Best Actor awards in the same year. The film helped Roshan establish himself as a prominent actor in Bollywood.
Roshan’s next film was the crime drama “Fiza.” In 2001, he appeared in two films – “Yaadein” and “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham…” That latter film was among the most successful Bollywood films in the overseas market, and Roshan’s performance was praised. He received a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance.
In 2002, he appeared in “Aap Mujhe Achche Lagne Lage,” though the film failed at the box office. In 2004, Roshan appeared in “Lakshya,” a fictionalized coming-of-age story set against events from the 1999 Kargil War. The film went on to reach cult status in India. Roshan earned Best Actor nominations at the Filmfare and Zee Cine ceremony. Years later, a noted film critic declared that Roshan’s performance in the film was the best of his career.
Roshan did not appear on screen again until 2006, when he was in three films – “I See You,” “Krrish,” and “Dhoom 2.” The latter film won him his third Filmfare Award for Best Actor and became the highest-grossing Indian film, a record held for two years. In 2010, Roshan starred in the multinational film “Kites.” The film opened on a record-breaking 3000 screens and became the first Bollywood film to break into the North American top 10. However, the film underperformed in India, with critics blaming it for its multilingual dialogues. The same year, Roshan collaborated with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali on the drama “Guzaarish.”
