Dhoni: The Untold Story,” a biopic of the Indian Cricket Team’s captain. He won several awards and starred in many Indian movies (leading and supporting roles) and two daily TV dramas. Early life and education
Sushant was born on 21 January 1986 in Patna, Bihar, the son of Usha Singh and Krishna Kumar Singh. His father worked as a technical officer (now retired) at Bihar State Handloom Corporation in Patna. He was the youngest Sibling of his four sisters and was nicknamed “Gulshan.” His sister, Mitu Singh, is a state-level Cricketer.
In his primary years, he attended St. Karen High School in Patna. After his mother died in 2002, his family moved to Delhi, where he completed his schooling at Kulanchi Hansraj Model School.
He was a brilliant student, winning the National Olympiad in Physics, qualifying for numerous engineering entrance exams, and being ranked AIR-7 in the Delhi Common Entrance. But as once told him, he wasn’t interested in engineering and wanted to join the Air Force as a Fighter Pilot or become an Astronaut. He was interested in Bollywood and was a huge fan of Shah Rukh Khan. But because of his family pressure, He joined Delhi College of Engineering to pursue a bachelor of engineering in Mechanical Engineering.
Personal Life
Sushant began dating his Pavitra Rishta co-star Ankita Lokhande in 2009. Soon after, they started living together and planned on getting married. However, Sushant announced their split earlier in 2016 via a tweet. Although a lot was written about why the couple called it quits, nothing was confirmed by the two. One of the many reasons was Sushant’s increasing closeness to his Raabta co-star Kriti Sanon.
Television Career
Sushant appeared in the advertisement for Nestle Munch in 2008, after which he was called for an audition by Balaji Telefilm for their show Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil. He bagged the lead role of Preet Juneja in the show. Although his character dies very early in the series, based on popular demand, he is brought back on the show as a spirit in the series finale. After a brief yet successful stint on the show, Sushant bagged his next lead role in the popular saga Pavitra Rishta, co-starring Ankita Lokhande, where he played the role of a Maharashtrian boy Manav Deshmukh, who works as a mechanic to provide for his family. He was then seen in a few dance reality shows, such as Zara Nachke Dikha 2 and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4, proving his prowess. For the two years that he was a part of the show, he won various awards and received nominations for his performance. He quit the show in 2011 to pursue a filmmaking course abroad.
Movie Career
Following his television success, Sushant moved on to doing movies. He first auditioned for a role in Abhishek Kapoor’s 2013 release Kai Po Che!, which is based on Chetan Bhagat`s novel The 3 Mistakes of My Life. Bagging one of the three lead roles, along with Rajkummar Rao and Amit Sadh, Sushant played the role of Ishaan Bhatt, an ex-district-level cricketer facing the consequences of politics in the cricketing selection. The movie and Sushant`s performance won critical acclaim, becoming a commercial success, and Sushant`s debut performance was well-received by critics. Rajput won various best debut awards and nominations for his portrayal of Ishaan.
With his debut movie being a commercial and critical success, the actor was cast in Yash Raj Films romantic comedy Shuddh Desi Romance in 2013, co-starring Parineeti Chopra and debutante actor Vaani Kapoor. The Maneesh Sharma-directed movie focuses on the topic of live-in relationships. Critics lauded Rajput`s unpretentious performance, calling it fresh, childlike, and spontaneous. He was then seen in Rajkumar Hirani`s sci-fi comedy PK, co-starring Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma, where he played a minor role. The movie became one of the highest-grossing films of 2014 and one of the highest-grossing Indian films.
Just three movies in the industry and Sushant bagged the titular role in Dibakar Banerjee’s 2015 release Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!, which, despite not doing exceptionally well at the box office, won Sushant`s performance in the action-mystery-thriller set in 1942 acclaim and appreciation. Portraying the character of arguably India’s most successful cricketing captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Sushant was seen in Neeraj Pandey’s biopic drama M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story so-starring Kiara Advani and Disha Patani in 2016. The movie became a commercial success, and Sushant’s performance won him a Filmfare Award nomination for Best Actor. Following the success of his last venture, Sushant was roped in by Dinesh Vijan to play the lead opposite Kriti Sanon in his 2017 romance Raabta. His other releases included Kedarnath (2018), Sonchiriya (2019), Chhichhore (2019) and Dil Bechara (2020). The actor passed away on 14th June 2020.
His entrepreneurial debut and work
In May 2018, Sushant joined the company “Innsaei Ventures” as a partner and was appointed as one of three directors and the other two are Varun Mathur and Saurabh Mishra. Within a week, he was also signed by NITI Aayog for being the brand ambassador of the “Women Empowerment Platform” and promoting the BHIM mobile payment app. Inner Ventures decided to fund 20 Crores in favor of the Women Empowerment Platform. In 2018, Sushant announced his company’s first project on 12 Biopic series of various Indian history characters from 540 to 2015 C.E. In September 2019, Sushant joined another company named Vividrage Rhealtyx one of three directors of the company other two were Rhea Chakraborty and Showik Chakraborty. In January 2020, Sushant founded an NGO (non-profit Organization) named Front India for the World Foundation, which works for poverty, hunger, and malnutrition. Sushant donated one crore to the 2018 Kerala floods in the Chief Minister Relief Fund on behalf of one of his fans. In 2019, Sushant was featured in the Forbes annual top celebrity list for the second time.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s Death
On 14 June 2020, this young age actor (34 years) was found dead in his bedroom, hanging from the Ceiling Fan in his Bandra Home in Mumbai. This was a shock for Bollywood and even his fans. Still, in the primary reports, it was claimed as “Suicide” as there were symptoms of Clinical Depression and Bipolar Disease. After the postmortem Report arrived, it clearly showed “asphyxia due to hanging” as the cause of death, and according to the doctors, the time of Death was between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
The Case turned when Sushant’s Family filed a complaint against his girlfriend Rhea and five more abetments of suicide. On 31st July, E.D. (Enforcement Directorate) found that his girlfriend, her family, and related people had taken money from his accounts and filed a complaint against her.
In August 2020, The Supreme Court of India handed the Case to the CBI (Central Bureau of India), one of India’s best investigation agencies, to investigate the Case. At some time, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) also claimed that there was a drag case involvement in his Death based on the phone chats given by E.D. while investigating. They proved right when, On 8th September, Rhea, his brother, and nine others were arrested by the NCB in a Drug Case linked to Sushant’s Case.
In October 2020, Dr. Sudhir Gupta, Related to the All India Institute of Medical Science, New Delhi, and the medical team leader of CBI confirmed to the Media (ANI news) that Sushant’s Death was a clear Case of Suicide and there was no chance of Murder. Neither was there an injury nor did Sushant struggle or fight during the time of Death. However, on 15th October, CBI said that an Investigation is still going on by CBI, and there is no conclusion on his Death; the reports in the Media aren’t completely true or trustworthy.
Sushant was a rising star, and his death was a shock for everyone; his fans are still trending or talking about him on many Social Media platforms and asking for conclusions. As of now, there is no conclusion on his Death, but for sure, with his demise, we lost a very good actor. It is sad, as he had an amazing career. Everyone will always remember him as a pure soul and a great actor.
